11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
North Baltimore Chapter Meeting
Historical Society of Baltimore County, Galloway Room, 9811 Van Buren Lane
Cockeysville, MD 21030
Join us for the first meeting of the year! We will participate in an interview-style discussion with Sean Murphy on "Moving From Novel to Screenplay"
Description: In this question and answer session, screenwriter and author Sean Paul Murphy will discuss the joys and agonies of turning your novel into a screenplay. He will discuss the unavoidable differences between the two formats. Will your individual skills as a writer help or hinder your ability to make the transition? Hollywood is hungry for projects based on existing IP. Can your novel be the next hit movie or streaming series? Let’s talk about it.
About the Presenter: Sean Paul Murphy is an award-winning screenwriter, author, editor and producer. He has written fourteen produced motion pictures. He is also the co-creator of a Sony produced streaming series currently in post-production. A series of true crime short films he wrote for the FBI won a combined eight Emmy awards when they aired on the Pentagon Channel. His memoir, The Promise, or the Pros and Cons of Talking with God, and his novel Chapel Street were traditionally published by TouchPoint Press. He taught screenwriting at Towson University and was previously represented by Stu Robinson at Paradigm.
