Congratulations to the winners of the Maryland Writers’ Association 2007 Short Works Contest. The judges kept busy reading, sixty-four submissions in the poetry category, eighteen submissions for Creative Non-Fiction, twenty-four submissions received for the Short Works Fiction and two entries for editorial.
For poetry, judge Madeleine Mysko selected:
First Place: Charles Robinson for “I Dreamed I Held a Seraph Close”
Second Place: Maureen Fama for “Crazy Old Moon”
Third Place: Rick Galloway for “The Layoff”
For Creative Non-Fiction, * judge Christianna McCausland selected:

Prizes:
1st Place - $100.00, complimentary admission to the 2007 MWA Annual Writers’ Conference, publication in Scribble of poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction, and a certificate, to be awarded at the conference.
2nd Place - $30.00, complimentary admission to the 2007 MWA Annual Writers’ Conference, and a certificate, to be awarded at the conference.
3rd Place - complimentary admission to the 2007 MWA Annual Writers’ Conference, and a certificate, to be awarded at the conference.
