Frederick April 2021 - Let Us Jam! (Part two – Let Us Slam!)

April 17, 2021
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Do Allen Ginsburg and Russell Simmons really dig the same “big mind”? Let us explore Beat Poetry and Poetry Jam Live. Who knew William Carlos Williams, Diane di Prima and Smokey Robinson would change the way we write poetry today. Is this what T.S. Eliot started? Do we want it to stop? Please join me for a 60-minute workshop delving in to slam poetry roots and where it is today. We will explore a few poets of the eras and then take some time to start our own poetry slam--or is it jam?
About the Presenter: Patti Ross graduated from The Duke Ellington School for the Performing Arts. After a brief career in the arts and journalism she began raising a family.
