Making Space For Social Media — Matthew Winner

April 18, 2020
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Online

Build support for your work without having to step foot outside your door. Social Media enables us to connect, support, and promote our work and the work of our writing community in authentic ways without ever having face-to-face interactions. With intention and thoughtfulness it's possible to build awareness of your work, your brand, and/or all you offer your community, all through a social media platform. We'll talk about how to know the right tools for the job and how to be your best selfs in these virtual spaces. Join Matthew Winner, school librarian and host of The Children's Book Podcast, to discuss the How and Why of making space for social media with practical, platform-specific takeaways on creating that space.

Matthew Winner is the lead Lower School Librarian at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. He is the host of The Children's Book Podcast, a weekly podcast featuring insightful and sincere interviews with authors, illustrators, and everyone involved in taking a book from drawing board to bookshelf. He also cohosts Kidlit These Days, a Book Riot podcast pairing the best of children’s literature with what’s going on in the world today. In 2013 Matthew was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker and was invited to the White House as part of the Champions of Change program. He wishes he was still on the Obama's Christmas card mailing list.
