***CANCELLED*** - Baltimore Chapter March Meeting - Building a Strong Story Structure

March 26, 2020

Cockeysville Recreation Center (across from the Cockeysville Library)
9836 Greenside Drive
Cockeysville, MD 21030

Whether you are writing fiction or nonfiction, whether you are working on short pieces or a book-length manuscript, whether you are an outliner or a pantser, at some point in the writing/revision process you have to make sure your story has a sound structure. We will look at multiple ways to structure a story to make it so compelling that a reader cannot put it down. We will also practice analyzing the structure of several stories and look at editing strategies.

Barbara Morrison, who writes under the name B. Morrison, is the author of a memoir, Innocent: Confessions of a Welfare Mother, and two poetry collections, Terrarium and Here at Least. Her work has been published in The Sun Magazine, Tiny Lights, Sin Fronteras/Writers without Borders, and elsewhere. She conducts writing workshops and provides editing services. She has maintained her Monday Morning Books blog since 2006 and tweets regularly about poetry @bmorrison9. For more information, visit her website and blog at http://www.bmorrison.com.

We meet on the last Thursday of every month, 7-8:30 p.m.

Rec Center locks doors at 9pm.
