MWA chapter meetings are open to the public and are free to MWA members and first-time guests. Returning non-members will be asked to pay $5. Non-members wishing to join MWA may do so at meetings or here.

Professor, poet, and editor Neal Dwyer will present new developments in understanding the brain and mindfulness, discuss the value of mindfulness in writing, and give us all a little practice in applying what we learn.

About the Speaker: Neal Dwyer is a poet and a professor of creative writing, English, and French at the College of Southern Maryland. He gives writing workshops on diverse topic—writing as a form of mindfulness, writing epiphanies, and understanding genres by translating prose into poetry and poetry into prose.
