MWA chapter meetings are open to the public and are free to MWA members and first-time guests. Returning non-members will be asked to pay $5. Non-members wishing to join MWA may do so at meetings or here. 

Events marked 'FYI' are not MWA events, and are provided as a courtesy for the benefit of members and supporters.

Visual artists Montgomery Art Associationand writers come together to network, collaborate, and inspire each other in a joint meeting of the Montgomery Artist’s Association (MAA) and the Montgomery County Chapter of the Maryland Writer’s Association (MWA-M) on October 9, 2013, beginning at 6:30 pm.


The meeting will be held at Plaza Artist Materials and Picture Framing http://www.plazaart.com/stores/rockville in Rockville, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on Wednesday, October 9.  Parking is plentiful and free but seats are limited, so plan to arrive early. (MWA-M members should note that this meeting starts half an hour earlier than the usual time, and the meeting is NOT in our usual location at Montgomery College.)

The meeting will be lead by MAA Vice President for Programs Pauline Rakis and MWA-M President Alix Moore. Artists and writers will get to know each other, participate in a mini-Spark activity http://www.getsparked.org/  and brainstorm ways the two organizations can collaborate to support and promote the arts in Montgomery County.
