MWA chapter meetings are open to the public and are free to MWA members and first-time guests. Returning non-members will be asked to pay $5. Non-members wishing to join MWA may do so at meetings or here. 

Events marked 'FYI' are not MWA events, and are provided as a courtesy for the benefit of members and supporters.

Vonnie Crist, author of the YA fantasy novel The Enchanted Skean, will be speaking to the MWA Annapolis chapter about writing for the young-adult market and will also share her journey as a writer and poet.

In addition to The Enchanted Skean, which was recently published by Mockingbird Lane Press (Arkansas), Crist is also the author of the story collections The Greener Forest and Owl Light from Cold Moon Press, the children’s book Leprechaun Cake & Other Tales from VRGroup, and two books of poetry: River of Stars and Essential Fables from Lite Circle Books. She is the recipient of a Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) writers' award, two L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Honorable Mentions, and a Pushcart nomination. Crist has been a poetry instructor in MSAC’s Arts in Education (AiE) Program for over 10 years and has also taught creative writing at Harford Community College. Always interested in learning, she earned her MS in Professional Writing from Towson University after age 50. You can find more information about Vonnie Crist at her website,
